Nectaring is the instrumental new age project of Jackson Bollinger. Based in Missouri, Bollinger works from a background in electronic and pop music production, as well as classical and folk composition. Drawing on the rural communities that raised his family, he brings focus to the subtle and quiet worlds of “flyover” country. Three singles arrived in 2025: Through the Fence, The Majesty of a Luna Moth, and A Frigid Winter's Wings. A fourth, Self-Compassion in My Heart? It's More Likely Than You Think, followed in August 2026.

Nectaring is the instrumental new age project of Jackson Bollinger. Based in Missouri, Bollinger works from a background in electronic and pop music production, as well as classical and folk composition. Drawing on the rural communities that raised his family, he brings focus to the subtle and quiet worlds of “flyover” country.

That focus is trained by a documentarian's eye. Bollinger holds a degree in documentary journalism from the University of Missouri and has directed and produced award-winning documentary shorts. Nectaring extends that practice into sound. Every piece works as a spatial and sonic documentary of space, subject, or thought.

The music sits between two traditions, the slow architecture of modern ambient and the older synth lineage of new age, where melody and a sense of place still matter. Bollinger also produces pop music under the name Bobo Gogo; Nectaring is where he slows down. Three singles arrived in 2025: Through the Fence, The Majesty of a Luna Moth, and A Frigid Winter's Wings. A fourth, Self-Compassion in My Heart? It's More Likely Than You Think, followed in August 2026.

The name Nectaring comes from the act of a butterfly or moth sipping nectar from a flower. That passion for native wildlife runs beyond the music. Bollinger leads New MO Insect Now!, a grassroots campaign to replace Missouri's state insect, the imported honeybee, with the Regal Fritillary, a native prairie butterfly proposed for federal protection. It is the same attention turned civic: caring for the landscapes he lives in and studies with his music.
